A single private treatment room at THE Beautiful Clinic in Nonhyeon, Seoul

Most people who look up a pico toning Korea price already know the name of the laser and want one figure before they plan a trip. The figure is the easy part. The harder part is whether the marks on your face are the kind a picosecond laser clears, or the kind that need a different wavelength first.

Brown spots, melasma and redness look alike in a bathroom mirror. Under a laser they behave very differently, and the wrong device on the wrong mark can leave skin darker than it started.

This page sets out what each pigment laser on our list costs for one session, what the scan decides before any of them is switched on, and how a course fits around a short stay in Seoul. The doctor who reads your scan is the one who treats you.

Pico toning Korea price on our list

Each laser below is priced by the session, not by the shot. The Aileen or Mosaic line is the same session combined with one of those two treatments, and the list prices it as one figure. If redness and dull tone are the reason you are looking, the Genesis laser guide explains where Aileen fits.

Excel V+ (Excel v3)With Aileen / Mosaic189,000
Vbeam1 session179,000
Fotona StarWalker1 session129,000

Prices are from the list of 20 August 2026 and exclude 10% VAT. The final figure is confirmed at consultation, after the 3D Meta-Vu scan and before anything is started.

Each figure is the price of one session, not a course. Pigment work almost always takes more than one visit, and every later session is charged at the single-session rate on the list in force at that time.

What pico toning is, and what PicoWay does

Pico toning is a low-energy pass of a picosecond laser across the whole face. PicoWay delivers its energy in trillionths of a second, so the pigment breaks apart under a pressure wave rather than being cooked by heat.

That is why the surrounding skin takes very little of the load. Less heat in the tissue means less risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, the darkening that can follow an irritated or overheated patch of skin.

A picosecond pulse breaks pigment into fragments that the body clears between sessions.

PicoWay carries four wavelengths: 532, 730, 785 and 1064 nm. Together they reach from shallow brown spots down to deeper pigment, and the setting is chosen for the mark in front of the doctor rather than fixed for the visit.

DermNet, the dermatology reference, lists tattoo removal as the main use of a picosecond laser. It also lists melasma, naevus of Ota and solar lentigines among the conditions it has been reported to treat, which is the range a pico laser Korea search usually has in mind.

PicoSure or PicoWay?

Many people search for PicoSure Korea and land on a page about PicoWay, so it is worth being plain about it. PicoSure and PicoWay are brand names of two different picosecond lasers, made by different manufacturers. Both deliver their energy in pulses measured in trillionths of a second, so pigment is broken apart by a pressure wave rather than by slow heating.

This clinic uses PicoWay and does not have PicoSure, so the pico toning Korea price on this page is the PicoWay figure. We do not rank one brand above the other: what decides the plan is whether the mark is pigment at all, how deep it sits, and the settings and spacing chosen for your skin. If one specific brand matters to you, it is better to know that before you book anything in Seoul.

A pico laser is also not a substitute for Fraxel, although the two are often searched together. A pico laser goes after pigment, while Fraxel is fractional resurfacing for texture and acne scars, with 3–7 days of redness and flaking.

Which laser the scan points to

Every visit starts with 3D Meta-Vu imaging, which shows melanin depth, blood vessels and sebum before anything is switched on. The scan is what turns a pico toning laser request into a plan, because it sorts the mark by type and depth. What the scan sees that a photo cannot explains why that step comes before the price.

  • Brown pigment and melasma usually point to PicoWay. Melasma sits deeper than a sun spot and reacts badly to the energy that clears one, so it is treated gently and in stages.
  • Redness from blood vessels points to Vbeam. Its wavelength is absorbed by haemoglobin and almost nothing else, so dilated vessels take the energy and the skin around them is left alone.
  • Redness and brown marks on the same face can point to Excel V+, which carries two wavelengths on one platform and switches between vascular and pigment targets in one visit.
  • Stubborn or body pigmentation, such as café-au-lait macules, lentigines or naevus of Ota, can point to Fotona StarWalker, which pairs Q-switched energy with picosecond emission.

Where more than one of these is present, our Pigmentation Care Program stages the lasers in sequence rather than stacking them in one visit. Irritated skin makes more pigment, so a compromised skin barrier is settled first.

How many sessions, and how often

Pigment fades between visits, not during them. The fragments are cleared by the body over the following weeks, which is why each laser has its own interval.

Session length and interval by laser
LaserSessionUsual interval
PicoWay15–25 minutesEvery 4–8 weeks
Excel V+20–30 minutesEvery 4 weeks
Vbeam15–25 minutesEvery 4 weeks, usually 3–5 sessions

Melasma responds slowly and relapses with sun, so expect maintenance rather than a finish line. The American Academy of Dermatology says sun protection helps fade melasma and keep it from returning, and that adding a laser can improve results for people already protecting their skin.

The number of sessions for your skin is set at consultation, after the scan. Results vary, and a plan that promises a fixed count before anyone has looked at your face is a guess.

Fitting pico toning into a short Seoul trip

Lasers can usually be done straight after the consultation, so the scan and the first session can share one visit. After toning settings, same-day makeup is usually fine, and most people go back to their plans the same afternoon.

Excel V+ is the one to place with more care. Treated spots can darken before flaking off, and the crusts lift on their own in three to seven days. Vbeam leaves redness for a few hours, and at higher settings the treated vessels can bruise for several days.

Two scheduling rules come from the clinic's own answers. A pigment laser is not booked straight after heat lifting such as Thermage, Ultherapy or Shurink, because heat followed closely by a pigment laser raises the risk of a dark mark (PIH); the gap is set at consultation, and threads or injections are not affected. Vbeam, by contrast, can share a day with pico toning.

Toning can go past the face. The neck is an add-on charge, each body area is priced like a full face and paired areas count twice. There is no ten-session package, so areas can be split across visits, and for Excel V+, adding the décolleté includes the neck.

  1. Before you fly. Send a daylight photo without makeup, your dates, and your Fitzpatrick skin type if you know it.
  2. Consultation day. The 3D Meta-Vu scan comes first, then the laser and the price, then the session if you agree to it.
  3. After you leave. Wear sunscreen every day through the course and for a month after it, and message us on WhatsApp from home if anything changes.

We are a two-minute walk from Nonhyeon Station, Exit 5, on Gangnam-daero; there is no patient parking, so come by subway or taxi. We open 10:30 to 19:30 Monday to Thursday, to 20:30 on Friday and to 16:30 on Saturday, and Sundays and public holidays are closed. If you are not sure which kind of dark spot you have, three misunderstandings about dark spots after 40 is a good place to start.

Darker skin, melasma and who should ask first

Picosecond lasers and low-fluence toning carry less risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation than heat-driven alternatives. That is a lower risk, not no risk: DermNet notes that people with darker skin types are more susceptible to side effects from laser treatment in general.

DermNet also describes post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation as more frequent and slower to fade in skin of colour. Tell us your Fitzpatrick type when you first message, so the plan and the settings account for it from the start.

  • Avoid sun exposure and retinoids for a few days before laser work.
  • Tell us about recent fillers, isotretinoin or any medication that affects healing.
  • If you have had laser treatment for pigment before and it came back darker, say so in your first message.

If the shadows you want to treat sit under the eyes, our dark circles guide separates pigment from hollowing and vessels. For prices across other facial treatments, see the Korean facial treatment price guide.

When you are ready, tick PicoWay in the booking selector and send your dates on WhatsApp. Every laser we use is on our medical devices page.

The short version

  1. Pico toning here is PicoWay, a picosecond laser that breaks pigment with a pressure wave rather than heat.
  2. On the list of 20 August 2026, PicoWay is 149,000 KRW a session, Excel V+ 169,000, Vbeam 179,000 and Fotona StarWalker 129,000, before 10% VAT.
  3. Each figure is one session; later sessions are charged at the single-session rate.
  4. The 3D Meta-Vu scan decides whether a mark is pigment, redness or both, and that decides the laser.
  5. Tell us your Fitzpatrick type and any medication before the first session.

Questions patients ask

How much is pico toning in Korea?

At THE Beautiful Clinic in Seoul, a PicoWay session is 149,000 KRW, or 169,000 KRW with Aileen or Mosaic, from the list of 20 August 2026, before 10% VAT. The final figure is confirmed at consultation.

How many pico toning sessions will I need?

It depends on the mark and its depth, and it is set at consultation after the scan. PicoWay sessions are usually spaced four to eight weeks apart, and melasma needs maintenance rather than a fixed end point.

Does pico toning hurt?

The sensation is low. Toning settings usually need no numbing or only a topical cream, and a session takes 15 to 25 minutes.

Is there downtime after pico toning?

Downtime is minimal, and same-day makeup is usually fine after toning settings. Excel V+ is different: treated spots can darken and crust for three to seven days.

Can darker skin have pico toning?

Picosecond lasers carry less risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation than heat-driven lasers, but darker skin types remain more prone to laser side effects. Tell us your Fitzpatrick type so the settings are planned around it.

Can I have pico toning on the same day as my consultation?

Often, yes. Lasers can usually be done straight after the consultation. Message your dates first so the time is kept for you.

Do you offer PicoSure in Seoul?

No. The clinic uses PicoWay, which is also a picosecond laser, and does not have PicoSure. The laser and its settings are chosen after the 3D Meta-Vu scan shows what your marks are.

Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
