As a dark-skinned woman with Fitzpatrick skin type VI, I found it incredibly frustrating coming to Korea and discovering that so many clinics were unwilling to offer me laser treatments… What really stood out to me was how knowledgeable the doctor was about treating darker skin tones, particularly when it comes to hyperpigmentation, the risks associated with laser treatments, and, importantly, how to minimise those risks.
