Temple Filler Korea for Hollow Temples: Who It Suits, Methods and Cost

Temple filler softens a sunken temple, and on the clinic's list facial filler starts at 89,000 KRW per 1cc before VAT. Bruising is possible for 2 to 5 days, so the appointment belongs early in a Seoul trip.

Temple filler Korea plans start from one question: is the hollow beside your brow the real reason your face looks tired? Temple filler is a gel, usually hyaluronic acid, placed in that hollow to restore the curve between forehead and cheekbone, and on the clinic's list general facial filler is priced from 89,000 KRW per 1cc before 10% VAT. Fillers can bruise for 2 to 5 days, which is why the injection goes near the start of a stay rather than the end.

It suits hollow temples, whether they have sunk with age, weight loss or a very lean build. Because the area carries blood vessels, where and how the gel is placed matters more than the brand, and the consultation begins with a 3D Meta-Vu scan rather than a price list. Consultations run in English and Bahasa Indonesia, and Dr. Jang Dong-hoon consults, plans and injects himself.

Many people expect temple filler to lift their eyes, and chasing that lift with extra gel is a common route to an overfilled look. If you cannot tell whether your temples are the real problem, send two daylight photos on WhatsApp, one straight on and one at a 45-degree angle, and ask one question: is it my temples or my cheeks? The angled shot shows the dip that a front selfie hides.

What is temple filler, and who does it suit?

The temple is the shallow area between the outer end of your brow, your hairline and the top of your cheekbone. In your twenties it is usually flat or slightly full. With age the fat there thins and the bone recedes a little, so a dip forms. Weight loss, endurance sport and a narrow face make it show earlier.

That dip changes how the whole upper face reads. Light falls into it, the outer brow looks heavier, and the face narrows at eye level, so the cheekbones stand out more than they used to. People describe it as looking tired or older, even when their skin is fine.

Temple filler tends to suit you if:

  • the dip is visible from the front, not only when you press the area
  • the skin over the temple is still reasonably firm
  • your cheeks sit roughly where they did ten years ago
  • you want a softer outline at eye level, not a different face

It suits you less when the main change is lower down. Filler in the temples gives some support to the tail of the brow, so the outer eye can look a little more open, but it does not lift heavy lids. Filler in the cheeks to lift jowls has a similar limit: volume can soften a shadow, but it does not reverse tissue that has descended.

How temple filler is placed

There are two main ways to fill a temple, and they sit in different layers. Doctors also choose between a fine needle and a cannula, a blunt-tipped tube. A cannula lowers the chance of piercing a vessel, but it does not remove the risk of vascular occlusion.

How temple filler is placed
ApproachWhere the gel sitsWhat to weigh
Deep, on the boneUnder the muscle, against the skullOne entry point, with the gel resting against bone; the injector must know where the deep vessels run
Superficial, with a cannulaJust under the skinSpreads the gel in a thin layer; a softer gel usually suits this layer
Collagen stimulator (PLLA, CaHA)Deep or mid layer, in stagesBuilds over weeks and needs more than one visit; cannot be dissolved like hyaluronic acid

Most temples are filled with hyaluronic acid filler, partly because it can be adjusted and, if needed, broken down with an enzyme; a filler dissolving injection is on the clinic's menu. If you are comparing temple filler Korea options, the layer, the gel and the tool are the three things to ask about. The clinic lists contour filler as lasting 9 to 18 months by product, with a mild sensation because the product contains anaesthetic.

On the clinic's menu, filler for facial volume sits under Contour Filler, which starts from proportion, asymmetry and where volume has been lost, rather than from the one hollow you point to. Where a hollow comes with loosened skin, a lifting device such as Volnewmer may be considered first, because density and volume recover together with that treatment. If you are weighing a Korean gel against an imported one, the Korean and European filler comparison covers what actually differs.

Blood vessels in the temple: the risks to plan around

The temple is generally considered a lower-risk area than the nose or the space between the brows, but it is not a no-risk area. It contains the superficial temporal artery and a network of veins, and the main serious risk with any filler is gel entering or pressing on a vessel, which doctors call vascular occlusion.

The US Food and Drug Administration lists unintended injection into blood vessels among the rare but serious risks of dermal fillers, with possible skin damage, vision problems and stroke. Whether filler is right for your temples is decided only after the doctor has examined you.

The common reactions are temporary: swelling, tenderness and bruising, and the clinic lists bruising as possible for 2 to 5 days after contour filler. Because the temple muscle moves when you chew, many people notice a dull ache while eating for a day or two.

As general medicine, it is usually wiser to wait or skip temple filler if any of these apply:

  1. an infection, cold sore or inflamed skin near the area
  2. pregnancy or breastfeeding
  3. isotretinoin use in recent months, or a very recent laser or peel on the face
  4. blood-thinning medicine or supplements, which raise bruising (never stop a prescribed medicine without your own doctor)
  5. a past reaction to filler or to local anaesthetic

After you fly home, sudden pain out of proportion to the injection, skin that turns pale, blotchy or dusky, or any change in vision needs emergency care at once, wherever you are. Slower problems, such as a lump or swelling weeks later, should be seen by a doctor at home; take the product name and amount with you, and message us a photo as well. The US CDC's medical tourism guidance also advises keeping copies of your treatment records.

This page covers temples only. If you are thinking about lips, nose or forehead, the vascular occlusion warning signs above apply at any injection site, and lumps or shape problems in those areas are also a reason to see a doctor early.

Before you book, send on WhatsApp the name of any filler you've had in the temples or cheeks, roughly when, and a list of your current medicines. Having that ready means the risk questions you ask are about your own history.

What temple filler Korea reviews claim, and what's true

Review threads about temples repeat a handful of claims. Some hold up; some don't.

“It lifts your eyes.” Partly. Supporting the temple can raise the brow tail slightly and open the outer eye. It is not a brow lift, and adding gel to force that effect is how temples start to bulge.

“Filler migrates.” Gel placed deep on the bone generally stays where it was put. What people read as migration is more often too much product, or a soft gel placed shallow that spreads toward the side of the forehead.

“Filler face” and “pillow face.” True as a warning. Pillow face usually builds up over years as volume is added area by area, temples, cheeks, under-eyes, until the face loses its angles. That is a planning problem more than a product problem.

“It hurts a lot.” Most people describe pressure and a brief sting, and the clinic lists the sensation as mild because the product contains anaesthetic.

“It lasts for years.” The clinic lists 9 to 18 months by product. Traces can remain in deep layers longer than the visible effect, which is one more reason to keep a record of what was injected.

What temple filler costs in Seoul

The clinic's list has no separate line for temples. Facial volume filler is priced per cc and by product, and these are the facial filler lines on the list:

Facial filler prices on the clinic's list
ItemListed price (before 10% VAT)
General facial filler, Atierre, 1cc89,000 KRW
General facial filler, Rejuviel, 1cc169,000 KRW
Belotero, 1cc390,000 KRW
Juvederm or Restylane, 1cc450,000 KRW
Filler dissolving injection, 1 session110,000 KRW

Prices are from the list of 20 August 2026 and exclude 10% VAT. The final figure is confirmed at consultation, after the 3D Meta-Vu scan and before anything is started.

Which line applies to your temples, and how many cc both sides need, is set at that consultation. These are the things that move the total:

  • How much gel your temples need. Both sides are treated, and a deep hollow takes more than a shallow one.
  • The product. The clinic's price list separates Korean and imported hyaluronic acid fillers, priced by the cc.
  • Whether a collagen stimulator is part of the plan, which means more than one visit.
  • Whether other areas join the plan, such as the cheeks or forehead.
  • Whether you need a dissolving injection first for old filler in the area.

You can still ask on WhatsApp for a range before you fly: mention the product type you are curious about and whether you want temples alone or with cheeks. When you know what you want to ask about, tick Contour Filler in the booking selector and send that list.

How many days to plan in Seoul?

Injectables can usually be done straight after the consultation, so one visit can hold both. The days that matter come after: bruising is possible for 2 to 5 days, and the clinic's guidance is to fly 2 to 3 days after filler. For temple filler Korea trips, keep those days free before your flight and before any photo-heavy event at home.

Our hours are Monday to Thursday 10:30 to 19:30, Friday 10:30 to 20:30 and Saturday 10:30 to 16:30, with a weekday lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. We're closed on Sundays and public holidays. Weekends and Friday evenings tend to be busier, so if your dates are fixed, book a treatment once they are set.

Say your week in Seoul ends with a family dinner where photos will be taken. In that case the visit belongs early in the week rather than on the last day, so any bruise has time to fade while you can still come back to the clinic. For the first day or two, doctors commonly advise avoiding pressure on the temples, hard exercise and saunas.

Why the temples are planned with the cheeks and forehead

Temples, cheeks and forehead are read together. A temple filled in isolation can make the upper face look wider while the lower face stays heavy, and that mismatch is often what people mean when they say a face looks done.

The same treatment is not repeated on everybody. For one face that means temples alone; for another, temples with a little cheek support; for a third, a lifting device and no filler at all this month. You can read more about how Dr. Jang works before you decide.

One photo is enough to start, and you can ask before booking anything. Send a daylight photo of your face at an angle on WhatsApp with your Seoul dates and the question you most want answered; the clinic answers within 24 business hours. At the visit, the doctor scans your skin, looks at your temples alongside your cheeks and forehead, and recommends the amount and method that fit your face.

The short version

  1. Temple filler restores the dip beside the brow; it can open the outer eye a little but does not lift lids or jowls.
  2. Deep placement on the bone and cannula placement under the skin are the two main methods.
  3. The serious risk is gel entering a vessel: sudden pain, pale or dusky skin or a change in vision needs emergency care.
  4. Facial filler is priced per cc, from 89,000 KRW per 1cc before 10% VAT; the amount, the product and any other areas set the total.
  5. Bruising is possible for 2 to 5 days after contour filler and the clinic's guidance is to fly 2 to 3 days after, so keep those days in Seoul.

Questions patients ask

How long does temple filler usually last?

The clinic lists contour filler as lasting 9 to 18 months by product. The layer the gel sits in and how lean your face is also matter within that range.

Does having the temples injected hurt?

Most people feel pressure and a brief sting, and the clinic lists the sensation as mild because the product contains anaesthetic. The temple can feel sore while chewing for a day or two.

Can I have it on the same day as my consultation?

Often, yes. Injectables can usually be done straight after the consultation. Weekends and Friday evenings tend to be busier, so message us once your dates are set.

Can temple filler be dissolved if I don't like it?

Hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with an enzyme injection, and a filler dissolving injection is on our menu. Collagen stimulators such as PLLA or CaHA cannot be dissolved this way.

When can I fly home after temple filler?

The clinic's guidance is to fly 2 to 3 days after filler. Leaving those days in Seoul also lets bruising settle and any early problem be checked while you are still nearby.

Will filler in my temples make my eyes look bigger?

It can support the brow tail, which may change how the outer corner of the eye reads. It does not lift heavy upper lids, which need a different treatment.

How much does temple filler cost in Korea?

The list has no separate temple line. Facial filler is priced per cc, with general facial filler from 89,000 KRW per 1cc and Juvederm or Restylane at 450,000 KRW per 1cc, before 10% VAT. How many cc both temples need is confirmed at consultation.

Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
