Rejuran skin booster: how many days before you fly? Results, cost, reviews
Bumps after Rejuran usually settle within a few days, so the injection day matters more than the length of your stay. We are 2 minutes from Exit 5 of Nonhyeon Station and answer WhatsApp within 24 business hours.

Your leave is only five days in Seoul, and one thing keeps nagging you: will the small bumps from a Rejuran skin booster still show when you board the flight home to Jakarta?
Read this before you lock in your ticket dates.
By the end you will know what the Rejuran terms floating around mean (healer, HB, salmon DNA, even the cream version), what happens day by day after the injection, when results show, what decides the price, and which review claims hold up. Then you can pick an injection day that fits your leave and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Jang Dong-hoon, Founder & Medical Director of THE Beautiful Clinic in Gangnam.
At our clinic the consultation begins with a 3D scan of your skin, not with a price list, and I consult, plan and treat myself. We are a two-minute walk from Exit 5 of Nonhyeon Station, and you can send questions on WhatsApp in English or Bahasa Indonesia.
I wrote this because many people plan their Seoul days assuming a booster leaves no trace at all, then get a shock at the row of small bumps in the hotel mirror that night.
A Rejuran skin booster is an injection of polynucleotide (PN) derived from salmon DNA into the dermis. For many people the bumps at the injection points settle within one to three days, while small bruises can last about a week, so injecting early in the trip gives you the most room.
If you are still weighing which day to have it done, send one front-facing photo taken in daylight with your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp, and ask just that one question. One photo and two dates are enough to start asking, and asking does not commit you to booking.
What is Rejuran? The terms people mix up
The name Rejuran is used for several different things, and that is where the confusion usually starts. The main ingredient of the injection is polynucleotide (PN), a purified DNA chain taken from salmon. A 2025 review in Pharmaceutics separates PN from PDRN: both come from DNA, but PN chains are longer and form a mesh that stays in the tissue for longer.
| Term people search | What it means | At our clinic |
|---|---|---|
| Rejuran healer | The original name of the Rejuran injection | Rejuran is on our treatment list |
| Rejuran HB | The low-pain type | On our treatment list |
| Rejuran i | The version for the eye area | On our treatment list |
| Rejuran S | A variant marketed for depressed acne scars | Not on our treatment list |
| Rejuran skincare or cosmetic | Creams and serums for home use | Not an injection |
The cream and serum versions cannot replace the injection. Molecules that pass easily through the outer layer of the skin are generally below about 500 daltons (Bos and Meinardi, Experimental Dermatology), and PN chains are far larger. A Rejuran cream can help surface hydration, but what works in the dermis is the injection.
Rejuran, Rejuran HB, Rejuran i and Rejuran with the Dermashine device are on our price list; the treatment itself is described on the Rejuran treatment page. If you are also reading about PN from other brands, ask about them in the same message so you can compare like with like.
Day by day after a Rejuran skin booster
Rejuran is injected shallowly at many small points, so the fluid forms bumps that look like mosquito bites along the treated area. That is fluid that has not spread yet, not a sign that something went wrong. The timeline below is the general pattern; thin or easily bruised skin can take longer.
- Day 0 (injection day): rows of small bumps, redness and a tight feeling. A few points may bruise. Makeup is usually left until the next day.
- Day 1: most bumps start to flatten. At normal talking distance the face often no longer stands out, but up close the injection points still show.
- Days 2 to 3: for many people the bumps are gone. What remains is usually small red dots or a bruise.
- Days 4 to 7: bruises, if any, fade from purple to yellowish and can be covered with concealer.
A systematic review of polynucleotides in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology reports side effects that are generally mild and temporary, such as redness, swelling and bumps at the injection points.
For the first one to two days it is generally advised not to massage or press the injected area, to put off hard exercise, and to skip alcohol. Once you are back in Jakarta or Surabaya, the tropical sun makes daily sunscreen more important, especially while redness remains.

How many days in Seoul, and when can you fly home?
According to our clinic information, boosters can often be done on the day of the consultation itself. So for one session of a Rejuran skin booster, what decides the length of your stay is the gap between the injection day and the flight day.
Flying is generally not considered to affect the result of a booster. The question is mostly comfort: you may not want airport photos with a row of bumps on your cheeks, and if an unusual reaction appears, it is easier to have it checked while you are still in Seoul.
Say you land at Incheon on Wednesday night and fly home on Sunday afternoon. Thursday morning gives you the most room: the clinic is open Monday to Thursday from 10:30 to 19:30, with a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. Injecting on Thursday leaves Friday and Saturday for the bumps to settle. On Friday the clinic is open until 20:30 and on Saturday until 16:30, while Sundays and public holidays are closed, so Sunday cannot be your injection day.
If your only slot is the day before you fly, that is still possible, but be ready to board with bumps that have not fully flattened. In my view, two nights between the injection and the flight is a comfortable gap for most people.
Boosters work cumulatively, and we suggest booking boosters as a course. If you only come to Seoul once every few months, ask during the consultation how the next session can be arranged around your next trip. The address and how to get here are on the THE Beautiful Clinic home page; come by subway or taxi, because the clinic has no patient parking.
If your dates are fixed, send your landing time and your departure time on WhatsApp together with one photo of your cheek from the side, and ask: “If I have the injection that day, how many nights are left before I fly?” With those two times in hand, you can choose a slot that leaves time for the bumps to settle.
Rejuran results: when do they show and how long do they last?
The plump feeling on the first day comes mostly from fluid that has just gone in. The change you are looking for from a Rejuran skin booster, meaning more hydrated skin, smoother texture and softer fine lines, develops slowly over weeks.
A real-life study of high-purification PN in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, and the systematic review above, assessed results after a course of several sessions. How long results last has no single number: age, sun exposure, smoking and whether the course is completed all play a part. I don't promise a number of sessions before I have seen your skin.
Rejuran can also be given with the Dermashine device, which injects the fluid evenly through several needles at once. If you are curious how that differs from microneedling, include that question in your first message.
What reviews of Rejuran often claim
Reviews help you imagine how it feels, but they cannot tell you how many days your own skin needs. These are the claims that come up most, and how far each holds up medically:
- “Rejuran hurts a lot.” Partly true. The needle is small, but there are many points and each one stings. That is why Rejuran HB, the low-pain type, is on our treatment list.
- “You glow the very next day.” Not quite. What you see the next day is bumps flattening and skin that looks slightly puffy; changes in skin quality take weeks.
- “Rejuran cream is the same as the injection.” No. PN molecules are too large to pass through the skin from outside in any meaningful amount.
- “Because it comes from salmon, people with fish allergies can't have it.” There is a basis for this. An allergy to salmon or to the product's ingredients is a reason to discuss it first, and usually not to go ahead.
- “Bumps mean it was injected wrongly.” No. Bumps on the first day are the expected pattern for this shallow injection.
What decides the price of Rejuran in Seoul?
On our price list, Rejuran is charged per cc. So the most useful question is how many cc your face needs, and for which area.
- Product type: regular Rejuran, Rejuran HB as the low-pain type, or Rejuran i for the eye area.
- Number of cc: the full face, a partial area or the eyes alone need different volumes.
- How it is given: by hand or with the Dermashine device.
- Number of sessions in the course, and whether it is combined with other treatments on the same trip.
A closer look at how Rejuran pricing works is in our guide to Rejuran cost in Korea. For the figure for your own case, ask on WhatsApp what a Rejuran skin booster would cost for the area you have in mind, for example the full face or under the eyes only.
Risks and who should wait
After a Rejuran skin booster, the common reactions are bumps, redness and tenderness that settle within a few days, and bruises that can last about a week. Rarer, but worth knowing: infection at an injection point, bumps that do not flatten, and allergic reactions. Recovery differs from person to person, and whether it suits you is decided at the in-person exam at the clinic.
In general, it is better to wait or discuss it first if:
- there is inflamed acne, an infection or an open wound in the area to be injected
- you had a laser or a peel on the same area in the last few days
- you are taking isotretinoin
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- you are allergic to salmon or to the product's ingredients
- you take blood-thinning medicine, which makes bruising more likely
If after you get home you notice redness that keeps spreading, pain that gets worse after the third day, pus or a fever, see a doctor in Indonesia that same day and show them the name of the product that was injected. The CDC advises medical travelers to bring copies of their treatment records home, so keep yours before you leave Seoul. You can also send a photo to the clinic's WhatsApp; we answer within 24 business hours.
Your first step before booking a ticket
Your first step is small: write on WhatsApp the medicines and skin treatments you have had in the last three months, then ask one question, such as “Regular Rejuran or Rejuran HB for my skin?” That list also helps you see for yourself what may need pausing before the trip. You can browse the options on the book a treatment page too. When you come to Seoul, I examine your skin with the 3D scan and recommend the treatment that fits your skin and your schedule.
The short version
- Rejuran contains polynucleotide (PN) from salmon DNA injected shallowly into the dermis; the cream versions are not equivalent to the injection.
- For many people the bumps at the injection points settle within one to three days, while bruises can last about a week.
- Inject early in the trip and leave about two nights before the flight home.
- Rejuran is priced per cc at our clinic; the product type and the area also decide the cost.
- Wait if there is inflammation at the site, a recent laser, pregnancy, or a salmon allergy.
Questions patients ask
Is Rejuran the same as filler?
No. Filler adds volume with a gel under the skin, while Rejuran contains polynucleotide injected shallowly to improve skin quality. Rejuran is not used to shape the nose, chin or cheeks.
Does the Rejuran injection hurt?
Many people feel a sting at each injection point because there are many points. Rejuran HB, the low-pain type, is on our treatment list. Ask during the consultation whether this type suits the area being treated.
When can I wear makeup after Rejuran?
Makeup is generally left until the next day, once the injection points have closed. Any small bruises left can usually be covered with concealer after that.
Is Rejuran S available at THE Beautiful Clinic?
Rejuran S is not on our treatment list. What we offer is Rejuran, Rejuran HB, Rejuran i for the eye area, and Rejuran with the Dermashine device.
Can I have Rejuran on my first day in Seoul?
Often yes, because boosters can generally be done right after the consultation. The clinic is open Monday to Thursday from 10:30 to 19:30, Friday until 20:30, Saturday until 16:30, and is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
Which languages can I use on WhatsApp?
You can ask in English or Bahasa Indonesia. The clinic answers messages within 24 business hours.
Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
