Rejuran downtime side effects: how many days should a Seoul trip allow?
Bumps from Rejuran often flatten within days, so your return flight matters as much as the injection. Send a photo and your dates on WhatsApp; the clinic answers within 24 business hours.

Worried that Rejuran downtime side effects will still be on your face when you board the flight home, or that one will turn up after you've left Seoul?
Read this before you fix your return date.
You'll know what each stage of recovery looks like, what decides the cost, which review claims hold up, which methods change the marks and how many days to leave, so you can pick a trip that fits your skin and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Jang Dong-hoon, Founder & Medical Director of THE Beautiful Clinic in Seoul.
I consult, plan and treat, and the consultation begins with a 3D scan of your skin. Clinic staff interpret for you, and we're two minutes on foot from Nonhyeon Station Exit 5.
I'm writing this because people count the bumps and forget the calendar: a Saturday injection runs straight into a closed Sunday.
Small bumps and redness usually settle in one to two days, while a bruise can take about a week. For most people that means two or three clear days before the flight, and more if you bruise easily.
If your dates are tight, send one daylight photo of your face and your return flight time on WhatsApp, and ask which treatment day leaves you the most room.
How long do Rejuran downtime side effects last, day by day?
Rejuran is a polynucleotide injection placed into the skin through many small entry points. Each one leaves a tiny raised mound of fluid, which is why the first hours look more dramatic than what is going on underneath. Published reviews of polynucleotide injections describe mostly mild, short-lived local reactions such as redness, swelling and bruising at the injection sites.
The timings below are general medicine for planning. Your own skin may run faster or slower.
| After injection | What you may see | What it means for your trip |
|---|---|---|
| First hours | Raised bumps in rows, pinkness, soreness | Keep the evening open |
| Day 1 to 2 | Bumps flatten, mild swelling, tender spots | Most people can walk around Seoul |
| Day 3 to 7 | Any bruise yellows and fades, small firm spots may remain | Flying is usually fine, photos may need concealer |
| Week 2 onward | Surface is usually quiet, skin quality changes slowly | You're home, and the slow part continues |
Three numbers that change your downtime
The first number is the amount. We list Rejuran in 1cc and 2cc, and more product generally means more entry points or a larger area, so more marks on the first day. If you'd like the wider picture of how long the bumps last and who should wait, that article goes through it by symptom. Details of each version sit on the Rejuran treatment page.
The second number is your own bruising history. If a bruise from an injection at home lasted ten days, ten is the figure to plan around. Generic charts of Rejuran downtime side effects can't know that about you, and it matters more to your trip than anything printed online.
The third number is the gap between injection and departure. A small skin injection doesn't usually stop you from flying. The reason to leave a gap is that you want any odd reaction to appear while you can still walk back to the clinic.

How many days should your Seoul trip allow?
Boosters can usually be done straight after the consultation, so one visit is often enough for the injection itself. We're open Monday to Thursday 10:30 to 19:30, Friday 10:30 to 20:30 and Saturday 10:30 to 16:30, with lunch from 13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays. Sundays and public holidays are closed, which is the detail most itineraries miss.
Here is how I would reason about the gap, as a planning guide:
- You only need to look presentable: two clear days between injection and flight.
- You bruise easily, or you're treating under the eyes: five to seven days if your face matters on arrival.
- A wedding or a major work event soon after landing: a week or more, or move the treatment to another trip.
Say you have reactive skin, you arrive Tuesday night and you fly out Sunday evening. I'd aim for Wednesday or Thursday, which leaves Friday and Saturday open if a spot worries you. A Saturday appointment on that same trip would put you on the plane the next day with the bumps possibly still up.
Before you settle on a day, send a list of the medicines and supplements you take and how long your last injection bruise lasted, and ask which weekday you should aim for.
When a reaction stops being normal, and who should wait
The Rejuran downtime side effects most people meet are temporary: bumps, redness, tenderness and sometimes a bruise, generally gone within about a week. If you've had this injected over acne marks, this guide to telling a normal bump from a warning sign covers that skin in detail.
As general medicine, these are reasons to wait or to talk it through first:
- Infection or inflammation at the treatment site
- A recent laser or peel in the same area
- Isotretinoin, now or recently
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- An allergy to an ingredient, including salmon-derived Rejuran and fish allergy
- Blood thinners, which you should raise with us and never stop on your own
Whether it suits you is settled in person, so tell me about recent fillers and any medication that affects healing.
If you're already home and you notice spreading redness, heat, pus, fever or pain that worsens after the first days, see a doctor where you are. Any change in vision or a patch of pale skin needs urgent care. Then message the clinic on WhatsApp with photos; answers come within 24 business hours, which is too slow for an emergency. The US CDC's advice for medical travelers is to arrange follow-up care and keep your treatment records before you leave, so note what was injected and bring it home.
What do reviews get right about Rejuran recovery?
Review threads repeat a few claims about Rejuran downtime side effects, and they aren't equally reliable.
The bumps are gone by the next morning. Partly true. A small amount on thicker skin can look close to normal by then, but it's a best-case story for planning purposes, and many people need a second day.
A bruise means the injector made a mistake. Not necessarily. Any needle can catch a small vessel, even with careful technique, and blood-thinning medicines and supplements raise the odds.
This injection causes cancer. This one is frightening enough to deserve its own answer, so I wrote separately about the cancer question and what the evidence shows.
Which Rejuran method fits your calendar?
The methods we list leave different traces, and the calendar should help you choose.
Rejuran is the standard version for the face, and the table above describes it well. Rejuran i is the eye version. The skin there is thin, so swelling and bruises tend to show more and for longer, and I'd give it the longer gap. Rejuran HB is the low-pain type, which addresses discomfort in the chair and shouldn't be assumed to shorten your recovery. Rejuran with [Dermashine](treatment:doubletite) uses a device to place many shallow, evenly spaced injections, so ask what the marks look like on your skin type and how soon you could wear makeup.
What decides the cost for your face?
The consultation begins with a scan, not with a price list, and the scan affects what you pay. These are the factors that move the figure:
- Which version you have: Rejuran, Rejuran i or Rejuran HB
- How much: 1cc or 2cc
- Whether Dermashine is added, which carries a tip fee
- Whether the plan needs more than one session, and so more than one trip
Your stay in Seoul is part of the budget too, and an earlier treatment day may let you keep it shorter. You'll find hours and location on our Seoul clinic's home page. To get the figure, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with a photo.
What to send before you book your flight
A single photo is enough for a first message, and you can ask before you've booked anything. Add your arrival and departure dates, and one question: which day should I have this so the Rejuran downtime side effects are behind me by the flight? When you come, I'll read your scan, examine your skin and recommend what fits, which may be a smaller plan than you expected.
The short version
- Raised bumps are usual in the first hours and often flatten within one to two days.
- A bruise can take about a week to fade, so bruising history changes your trip length.
- Inject early in your stay: the clinic is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
- The eye area, the amount in cc and the method all change what shows.
- Spreading redness, fever or worsening pain needs a doctor, wherever you are.
Questions patients ask
Can I fly the day after a Rejuran injection?
Often yes, since a small skin injection doesn't usually stop you from flying. The bumps may still be visible, though, and you'd be leaving before you could return to the clinic with a question. Two clear days give you more room.
How soon can I wear makeup?
Many doctors suggest waiting until the entry points have closed, commonly about a day. Ask at your appointment, since the area and method change the answer.
Do under-eye bumps last longer?
They can. Skin under the eye is thin, so swelling and bruising tend to show more. Leave a longer gap if you're choosing Rejuran i and your face matters on arrival.
Can I have Rejuran on the day of my consultation?
Often, yes. Boosters can usually be done straight after the consultation. If your visit is short, message the clinic as soon as your dates are set, because weekends and Friday evenings fill first.
What if I still have a bruise when I get home?
A fading bruise is usually not a concern and can take about a week to clear. Spreading redness, heat, fever or worsening pain is different and needs a doctor where you are.
Should I stop my supplements before the injection?
Don't change a prescribed medicine on your own. List everything you take when you message the clinic, including supplements, and raise it again at the consultation.
Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
