Seoul Juvelook disadvantages: is a five-day trip enough? Cost, reviews, methods
Juvelook works slowly, and some of its downsides only show once you are back home. Our Seoul clinic answers WhatsApp messages within 24 business hours, so send your question before you book flights.

Your leave is only five days, and before booking you searched “Seoul Juvelook disadvantages”: will the injection marks still show when you land in Jakarta, and will the result only appear once you are far from the clinic?
Read this before you lock in your flight dates.
By the end you will know what decides the cost of Juvelook, which review claims hold up medically, which injection methods are available, and how many days in Seoul make sense. With that you can judge whether Juvelook fits your face, your schedule and your budget on this trip.
Hello, I'm Dr. Jang Dong-hoon, Founder & Medical Director of THE Beautiful Clinic in Seoul, and a member of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Surgery and the Korean Society for Laser Medicine.
At our clinic, I consult, plan and treat myself. The consultation begins with a 3D scan of your skin, not with a price list. You can message us on WhatsApp in English or Bahasa Indonesia, and the clinic answers within 24 business hours.
I'm writing this because many people book Juvelook the way they book a facial: come once, go home with the result.
For a traveler, most of Juvelook's downsides are about timing. Collagen builds gradually over several weeks after you go home, injection marks can stay visible for a few days, and a rare lump can appear long after the injection, when you are already back home.
If what worries you most is your face on the day you fly, send one front photo of your face in daylight with your arrival and departure dates on WhatsApp, and ask one thing: does Juvelook make sense for that schedule?
Why do Juvelook results only show after you go home?
Juvelook is a collagen stimulator. In general it contains polylactic acid particles (PDLLA) combined with hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid adds a little hydration at first, but the main work is done by the PDLLA particles: the body responds to them by building new collagen around them, and that takes weeks.
Regular hyaluronic acid filler fills volume the moment it goes in. Juvelook asks your skin to do the work itself. That's why skin boosters at our clinic are described as a regeneration course, and the collagen is made by your own skin.
If you are flying in from Jakarta or Surabaya, the meaning is simple. On the day you fly, what you see in the mirror is mostly mild swelling and injection marks. The change from collagen, if it forms as planned, happens at home. You can read more about the product and how it works on the Juvelook treatment page.
Juvelook downsides that belong in your trip plan
The lists of “Seoul Juvelook disadvantages” online usually mix small things with important ones. For someone with only a few days in Seoul, it helps more to sort them by when each one shows up.
| Downside | When you notice it | What you can plan |
|---|---|---|
| Gradual results, not instant | Several weeks after going home | Don't schedule Juvelook for a big event next week |
| Injection bumps, mild swelling, bruising | The first few days | Keep days in Seoul before your flight |
| Can't be dissolved like HA filler | Any time after injecting | Decide the area and the cc before your last day |
| Rare lumps or nodules | Weeks to months later | Keep the product name and area notes for your doctor at home |
| Often planned as a course | At the next session | Think about whether you will come back to Seoul |
The first two rows can be handled with scheduling. The last three are worth thinking about before you book, because they all happen when you are no longer near the clinic.
Say you are 48, your mid-cheeks have started to look thin in photos, and you have five days in Seoul from Wednesday to Sunday. Two weeks after you get home there is a family wedding. In that situation, my first question would be: what do you want for the wedding, volume, or firmer cheek skin over the coming months? If the answer is volume on the wedding day, Juvelook doesn't suit that deadline, because collagen may not have formed within two weeks. If the goal is firmer skin over a longer stretch, Juvelook makes sense, as long as you accept that the result arrives after you are back in Jakarta.

How many days in Seoul make sense for Juvelook?
Take the five-day schedule above. The clinic is open Monday to Thursday from 10:30 to 19:30, Friday until 20:30, Saturday until 16:30 with no lunch break, and closed on Sundays and public holidays. It is on the 2nd floor of the Jinryeong Building, a two-minute walk from Nonhyeon Station Exit 5 (Sinbundang Line). There is no patient parking, so come by subway or taxi.
Skin boosters can generally be done right after the consultation. So if you arrive on Wednesday evening, Thursday can hold the consultation, the 3D skin scan and the injection if your skin is a good fit. Friday and Saturday are the days you watch the bumps and swelling settle while the clinic is still open. The clinic is closed on Sunday, so if you fly on Sunday, Saturday before 16:30 is your last chance to come back in.
Weekends and Friday evenings are the slots that fill fastest, so share your dates as soon as your tickets are confirmed. Opening hours and contact details are on THE Beautiful Clinic's home page, and you can request a slot on the booking page. My general advice: don't put the injection on your last day. For many people, swelling and injection bumps settle within a few days, and you want to still be in Seoul during those days.
If you have had filler or another treatment in the cheek area, include a side photo in daylight and write what was injected and when. Ask whether that area can take Juvelook on this trip.
Juvelook injection methods: manual, Dermashine, or with subcision?
There are several ways to place Juvelook in the skin, and the choice affects how much swelling and how many marks you take home. On our treatment list, Juvelook is written per cc and per session, subcision is added if needed, and Juvelook can also be given with Dermashine.
- Manual injection with a needle or cannula. The product is placed point by point in the chosen area. In general, needle injections more often leave small bumps and bruises at the entry points.
- Dermashine. An injection device that delivers the product in many small, shallow, evenly spaced points. This pattern is usually used for skin quality over a wide area, and the small bumps are spread across the whole area.
- Subcision. A needle is used to release the bands of connective tissue that pull depressed acne scars down. Subcision bruises more easily in general, so plan more days in Seoul.
The choice of method follows what the scan shows: thinning cheek skin, depressed acne scars, or texture. If you are still weighing building collagen against improving skin quality, Rejuran is the other option people compare. Rejuran is PN-based, and the small bumps at its injection points usually show for one to two days.
Juvelook reviews: what's true and what needs correcting?
When people search “Seoul Juvelook disadvantages”, what comes up is often reviews on TikTok and forums. Three claims appear most often.
“You see the result right away.” Partly true for the first days: the hyaluronic acid and mild swelling make the skin look fuller. That is not new collagen yet, and the early effect usually fades as the swelling goes down.
“The bumps go away on their own.” For the small bumps at the injection points in the first days, this is generally true. What needs telling apart is a nodule that appears or stays weeks later. For poly-L-lactic acid injections, a close relative of Juvelook's ingredient, a case report in the Annals of Dermatology (2020) described a foreign body reaction that appeared late. It is rare, but it is the reason you need to know who can examine you at home.
“There's no downtime.” Half true. Most people can go about their day right away, but injection bumps, redness and sometimes bruising can show for a few days. For a family photo or an important meeting the next day, those marks will still be visible.
What decides the cost of Juvelook for your face?
The cost of Juvelook isn't set by the product name alone. What moves the figure for your case:
- The number of cc. Our price list is written per cc, for example 2cc or 4cc in one session. The amount follows the size of the area and the condition of the skin.
- Subcision, if depressed acne scars need releasing first.
- The injection method. If it is given with Dermashine, there is a separate tip charge.
- The number of sessions in a course, and whether you will come back to Seoul for the next one.
- Your days in Seoul, which add to the trip cost beyond the treatment.
You can ask for the cost range first. Ask on WhatsApp roughly what Juvelook would cost for the area you have in mind, naming the area and your goal. The exact figure is confirmed at the consultation, after your skin is examined.
Risks, who should wait, and what to do after you go home
The common, temporary reactions are mild swelling, redness, small bumps at the injection points, tenderness and bruising. For many people these settle within a few days; bruising from subcision can last longer. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) lists bruising, redness, swelling and pain as common side effects of fillers, while lumps, infection and rare blood vessel blockage are among the more serious risks.
In general, Juvelook is better postponed if:
- there is an infection, inflamed acne or a wound in the area to be injected
- you have recently had laser, a peel or filler in the same area
- you are taking or have recently taken isotretinoin, or a medication that affects healing
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- you are allergic to one of its ingredients, or have had a lump that stayed after a previous injection
Tell the clinic if you have recently had filler or are taking isotretinoin. Of all the “Seoul Juvelook disadvantages”, the one most often overlooked is what happens after you get home. If at home you notice a hard lump that grows, pain that gets worse, redness and warmth that spread, or a fever, see a dermatologist or your nearest doctor without waiting. Skin that turns pale or bluish near the injection area is an emergency.
Show the product name (Juvelook), the injected area and the date. The U.S. CDC advises medical travelers to carry copies of their treatment records and to plan follow-up care at home before they leave, so ask about those records before you leave Seoul. You can also send a photo to the clinic's WhatsApp, which answers within 24 business hours; for urgent symptoms, a doctor where you are is the first step.
If you want to know whether Juvelook makes sense before you take your leave, send on WhatsApp how many days you will be in Seoul and the one question that bothers you most, such as roughly what it would cost for your case. One message is enough, and you can ask before booking anything. When you come in, the consultation begins with a 3D skin scan, then I examine the area you are concerned about and recommend the treatment that fits, including when the answer is a smaller plan.
The short version
- Juvelook is a collagen stimulator, so results build gradually after you are back home.
- Injection bumps, mild swelling and bruising can show for a few days, so don't book the injection on your last day.
- Polylactic acid particles can't be dissolved the way HA filler can, so the area and the number of cc are decided before injecting.
- Cost depends on the number of cc, subcision, the injection method, the number of sessions and your days in Seoul.
- Take the product name and injection date home so your doctor there knows what was injected.
Questions patients ask
When can I fly after a Juvelook injection?
There is no general medical rule against flying after a skin booster injection. The reason to keep a few days is practical: the swelling and injection bumps have time to settle, and you are still in Seoul if something needs a look. Don't book the injection on the last day of your trip.
If I don't like the result, can Juvelook be dissolved?
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme, but the polylactic acid particles in Juvelook are not dissolved that way. The body breaks them down slowly. That's why the area and the number of cc are best decided carefully before injecting.
Can I have the injection on the day of my consultation?
Often, yes. Lasers, skin boosters and aesthetic injections can generally be done right after the consultation if your skin is a good fit. Share your dates early, because weekends and Friday evenings fill up fastest.
What should I do if a lump appears after I'm back in Indonesia?
Small, soft bumps in the first days usually settle on their own. A hard lump that grows, increasing pain, spreading redness or a fever should be examined by a doctor where you are without waiting. Bring the product name and the injection date. You can also send a photo to the clinic's WhatsApp, which answers within 24 business hours.
Can the consultation be in Bahasa Indonesia?
Yes. You can message us in English or Bahasa Indonesia; in the clinic, the consultation runs in English with the clinic's own interpreter, free of charge. If English is hard for you, say so in your first message.
How far ahead do I need to book?
A few days is usually enough. Once your dates in Seoul are fixed, let the clinic know right away, especially if you want a Saturday or a Friday evening.
Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
