Korea Rejuran Healer: bumps, allergies and when I say wait
Rejuran improves skin quality, but it is not for everyone and it does not lift sagging skin. At our clinic, the small bumps after the injection usually last 1 to 2 days.

Korea Rejuran Healer, meaning Rejuran injected at a skin clinic in Seoul, is a polynucleotide (PN) skin booster that works on skin quality, and the effect most people see afterwards is small bumps for 1 to 2 days. At our clinic the consultation begins with a 3D skin scan, and the doctor who examines your face is the doctor who plans and injects. But if your ticket to Seoul is already booked, the question that usually nags is this one: what if I get to the clinic and find out I'm someone who shouldn't be injected?
Most reasons to postpone are things you can check from home: inflamed skin, an allergy to fish-derived ingredients, certain medicines, pregnancy. There are also things this injection simply does not do. If one of them applies to you, it's better to know it in Jakarta than in the treatment chair.
If you take regular medication, have ever reacted to seafood, or recently had a laser or peel, write the list in a WhatsApp message in Indonesian or English, and ask one question: is there anything here that means I should postpone Rejuran?
Korea Rejuran Healer: what it does, and what it doesn't
Rejuran Healer is the name of the original Rejuran product. On our menu it is simply Rejuran, alongside Rejuran i for the eye area and Rejuran HB, the low-pain type. The ingredient is polynucleotide, purified DNA fragments sourced from fish. A review in Pharmaceutics comparing PN and PDRN explains that both come from fish DNA and act by supporting tissue repair, with PN made of longer chains.
A systematic review in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology on polynucleotides in aesthetic medicine describes improvements in hydration, elasticity and texture, with side effects that were generally mild and short-lived. The change arrives gradually over weeks, because the skin itself is rebuilding its tissue.
What Rejuran does not do matters just as much before you buy a ticket. It does not lift a cheek that has dropped, it does not fill hollows the way filler does, and it does not erase dark spots or melasma. If what bothers you is a softening jawline, Rejuran on its own will probably disappoint you; that problem sits in a deeper layer and is answered by lifting devices. I would rather say that now than after you've flown to Seoul.
If you're still unsure whether a Rejuran cream from a shop can replace the injection, or how a booster differs from a filler, those two mix-ups come up often on forums and are worth settling before you travel. The areas, how it works and the downtime at our clinic are listed on the Rejuran treatment page.
Who should postpone Rejuran?
The conditions below are general considerations in aesthetic medicine. For most doctors, each one means postponing, changing the plan, or at least talking it through first:
- An allergy to fish or to any ingredient in the product. Because PN comes from fish DNA, any history of allergic reaction needs to be mentioned before the needle touches skin.
- Active acne, infection or a wound in the injection area. A needle passing through inflamed skin can carry bacteria deeper. If acne is still active, reverse the order: acne treatment chosen by acne type first, booster later.
- Currently taking, or recently stopped, isotretinoin. This acne medicine affects skin healing, so the date of your last dose matters.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding. Safety data in this group are limited, so most doctors prefer to wait.
- A recent laser, peel or filler in the same area. Skin that has not recovered should not take new trauma.
- Blood thinners or easy bruising. This does not always rule it out, but bruises are more likely and worth discussing.
- A history of keloids or an autoimmune condition that is flaring. How skin reacts to small wounds is harder to predict in these cases.
Before any treatment, I want to know if you've recently had filler, are taking isotretinoin, or take medicine that affects healing. That information decides whether the plan stays, gets smaller or waits.
If you're not sure whether your skin is inflamed right now, send a photo of your face without makeup taken near a window in daylight, and say which area you most want to improve.

What does it usually feel like after the injection?
Rejuran is injected as many small points in the upper layer of the skin, so the face looks dotted afterwards. At our clinic those small bumps usually last 1 to 2 days. The other reactions in this table are common to injections in the skin, and how long they last differs from person to person.
| Reaction | Usually lasts | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| Small bumps at injection points | 1 to 2 days | Don't massage or squeeze them |
| Redness and warmth | A few hours to a day | Skip the sauna and hard exercise that day |
| Pinpoint bruises | A few days | Let them fade, note it if they spread |
| Stinging during injection | During the procedure | Ask about Rejuran HB at your consultation |
Those bumps are the reason the injection is better scheduled early in the trip, not the day before holiday photos or your first meeting back home.
Rare risks worth knowing
Every injection breaks the skin, so some risks remain even though they are uncommon. Infection at an injection point has clear signs: pain that gets worse after the second day, swelling that grows, heat, or pus. An allergic reaction can show up as spreading itch, swelling of the lips or eyelids, or shortness of breath; that needs prompt care at the nearest medical facility.
On brown skin, any inflammation can leave a temporary dark mark called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. That is why bumps are best left alone, never squeezed, and your face protected with sunscreen once you're back under the Jakarta sun. A bump that lasts much longer than a few days also needs a doctor to look at it. Whether Rejuran suits you is still decided at the in-person exam in Seoul.
What if a reaction shows up after you're home in Jakarta?
The third day at home is often the most anxious one: you're far from Seoul and not sure whether what you see in the mirror is still normal. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in its guidance on medical tourism, advises bringing copies of your treatment records and arranging a follow-up plan with a doctor in your home country before you leave.
For Rejuran, that comes down to a few small habits. Keep the product name and variant used, for example Rejuran or Rejuran HB, so a dermatologist in Jakarta knows the ingredient. Photograph your face every morning for the first few days in the same light, so small changes are easy to compare. If any sign of infection or allergy from the previous section appears, see a doctor or the nearest emergency department first, then send the photos to us on WhatsApp.
The number of nights you leave before your flight also shapes how calmly you go home, so count them before you lock in your dates; when you can fly after each skin treatment sets that out. When your dates are set, open the booking selector with Rejuran ticked.
Planning your Seoul days so there is room to wait
THE Beautiful Clinic is on the 2nd floor of the Jinryeong Building on Gangnam-daero, a two-minute walk from Exit 5 of Nonhyeon Station on the Sinbundang Line. We're open Monday to Thursday 10:30 to 19:30, Friday until 20:30 and Saturday until 16:30; Sundays and public holidays are closed. Weekends and Friday evenings usually fill first. The full address and contact details are on our clinic's English home page.
A skin booster can often be injected right after the consultation on the same day. That is exactly why your visit belongs on day one or two in Seoul. If the exam finds a reason to wait, you still have the rest of the trip to enjoy without feeling you lost anything; if the injection goes ahead, bumps that last 1 to 2 days have usually settled before you board the flight home.
For many people who search “korea rejuran healer”, the biggest decision turns out to be about their skin and body right now, whether this is the right moment to be injected. The brand and variant come after that.
Tonight you can send one WhatsApp message with your arrival date and the time of your flight home, with one question: which day should I come in?
The short version
- Rejuran improves skin quality gradually, but it does not lift sagging skin or fill hollows.
- A fish allergy, active acne, isotretinoin, pregnancy and a recent laser are common reasons to postpone.
- Small bumps after the injection usually last 1 to 2 days.
- Book your visit early in the trip so there is room if the exam suggests waiting.
Questions patients ask
Is Rejuran Healer the same as the Rejuran on the clinic menu?
Rejuran Healer is the name of the original Rejuran product. Our menu lists it as Rejuran, with Rejuran i for the eye area and Rejuran HB as the low-pain type.
I'm allergic to seafood. Can I still have Rejuran?
The Rejuran ingredient comes from fish DNA, so any allergy history needs to be shared before treatment. For many doctors, an allergy to fish or to a product ingredient means choosing another route or not injecting at all.
How long do the bumps after the injection show?
At our clinic, the small bumps at injection points usually last 1 to 2 days. Mild redness generally fades sooner, while pinpoint bruises can last a few days.
Can I be treated on the same day as my consultation?
Often, yes. Lasers, boosters and aesthetic injections can usually be done right after the consultation, unless the exam finds a reason to wait.
When can I fly home after Rejuran?
In general, a skin booster injection is not a reason to avoid flying. What to plan around is the 1 to 2 days of bumps and some time to watch for signs of infection while you are still in Seoul.
What should I prepare before coming to the clinic?
Come with a clean face and no makeup if you can. Tell us if you have recently had filler, are taking isotretinoin, or take any medicine that affects healing.
Do I need to speak Korean?
No. Consultations are available in English and Indonesian, and you can message us in either language on WhatsApp before you come.
Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
