Rejuran how long does it last, and would a flight to Seoul be wasted if the change fades within months?
Read this before you fix your return date.
You'll know how long the result usually holds, what decides the cost, which methods exist, what reviews get right and wrong, and how many Seoul days to leave, so you can pick a plan that fits your leave and your budget.
Hello, I'm Dr. Jang Dong-hoon, Founder & Medical Director of THE Beautiful Clinic in Seoul.
I consult, plan and treat myself, and no counsellor sells you a package. The consultation begins with a 3D skin scan. You can message in English, and the clinic answers within 24 business hours.
I'm writing this because many people judge Rejuran by the bumps of the first days, and those bumps say nothing about how long the skin change holds.
Published studies mostly measure polynucleotide boosters such as Rejuran about 3 to 6 months after a course of 2 to 4 sessions, and some benefit was still measured at 6 months. The bumps usually settle within days.
If you're weighing this against a fixed week of leave, send a daylight photo of your cheeks and your Seoul dates on WhatsApp, and ask how many sessions those dates could hold.
Rejuran how long does it last after a full course?
Most followed people for about 12 weeks, and the longest ran to about 6 months. Nobody can give you a firm expiry date, because few studies looked further.
The details are useful. One study in that review found that improvement in skin texture had declined by 6 months without returning to the starting level. Another reported wrinkle improvement still present at 6 months. A later real-world study of 66 adults, with three sessions 2 or 3 weeks apart, assessed results at 3 months and stopped there. These papers cover polynucleotides as a class, and not every one tested Rejuran itself.
Here is how I read that. I'd judge your skin at about 3 months and look again around 6 months, when many people start thinking about a top-up. I won't promise anything beyond that, because the evidence doesn't reach it. Our Rejuran treatment page sits with the other boosters for a reason: boosters ask the skin to make its own collagen instead of borrowing volume from a gel, so the change tends to fade gradually.
Lifting runs on separate clocks. If you came for a firmer jawline, a booster's timeline is the wrong one to read.
How many Seoul trips does a course take?
In short, this is the part that shapes your booking. In the published schedules, sessions were mostly 2 or 3 weeks apart. A five-day holiday holds one session, and a course needs a longer stay or a return visit.
That leaves you three realistic plans:
- One session on one trip. This is a smaller plan than the studies measured, so I wouldn't expect the same result from it.
- A course split across trips. This suits you if you live in Asia and can come back for a weekend. Saturday hours are 10:30 to 16:30, and Sundays are closed.
- A stay of three weeks or more. Two sessions can fall inside it, and a third needs a little longer.
Say you live in Toronto, you have dull cheeks and fine creasing under the eyes, and you've got one week off. You land on Saturday night. The clinic is closed on Sunday, so Monday is your first possible day. You'd go home with one session done and a clear idea of whether a return trip is worth it.
The address, hours and treatment list are on our English clinic page, which is worth a look before you choose a hotel. Nonhyeon Station Exit 5 is a 2-minute walk away.

Your first week, and what it means for the flight
The short clock is easier to plan around. Our step-by-step piece on how long each Rejuran stage takes covers the appointment itself. This table covers what follows it, as general medicine, and your own skin may run faster or slower.
| When | What you may notice | What to plan |
|---|---|---|
| Same day | Small raised bumps and redness at injection points | No photos or dinner plans you'd mind skipping |
| Next 1 to 3 days | Bumps flattening for many people, some swelling | Sightseeing is usually fine, with sun protection |
| Up to about a week | A bruise, if you got one, fading | Leave this gap before a wedding or big event |
| 2 to 3 weeks | Next session in most published schedules | Your return visit, if you choose a course |
| About 3 months | The point most studies assess | Your first fair look at the result |
| About 6 months | The longest common study point | Decide whether to top up |
The review I mentioned describes mild local pain, swelling, itching, redness and bruising as typically resolving within a week. The CDC's advice to delay air travel for 10 to 14 days applies to major surgery, and a skin injection isn't that. The practical concern on a flight is cosmetic: a bruise you'd rather not carry through arrivals. I'd book the injections at least two or three days before you fly if you can.
Add your flight time and a list of your medicines or recent fillers to your WhatsApp message, and ask how close to departure you could book the injections.
Methods: needle, eye-area type and low-pain type
Thin under-eye skin and thicker cheek skin aren't the same job, which is why the eye type exists.
I don't know of good head-to-head data showing that one of these lasts longer than another. Your choice is better made on area, comfort and how many bumps your trip can tolerate.
What decides the cost of your plan?
The consultation begins with a scan rather than a price list, because these factors only become clear once your skin has been read:
- Product type: Rejuran, Rejuran i or Rejuran HB.
- Amount: the menu counts in cc, so 1cc and 2cc plans differ.
- Area: cheeks alone, under-eyes alone, or both.
- Number of sessions: one on this trip, or a course across visits.
- Delivery: by needle or with Dermashine.
Travel adds its own part, since a return trip means more flights and hotel nights. For your own figure, ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, and attach a photo.
What do reviews get right about how long it lasts?
Three claims come up often in public reviews and forum threads.
'It glowed for a week, then faded.' This is plausible. Early swelling can make skin look plumper, and it settles. That first week isn't the result the studies measure.
'It wore off by month six.' This partly fits the data, since one study saw texture improvement decline by then. The same study didn't see it return to the starting level, though.
'The bumps mean it's working.' This isn't true. Bumps are the injected fluid sitting in the skin, and they tell you nothing about later collagen change.
Risks and who should wait
Common reactions are redness, swelling, tenderness, itching and bruising, and they usually settle within about a week. Serious events weren't reported in the review above, though those studies were small and short. How long your result holds will differ from someone else's. Our page on Rejuran side effects and who should wait goes through these in detail.
As general medicine, you may need to wait or skip it if you have:
- infection or inflamed skin at the injection site
- a recent laser treatment or peel in the same area
- isotretinoin in your current or recent medicines
- a pregnancy, or you're breastfeeding
- an allergy to salmon or to any ingredient, since Rejuran is salmon-derived
If a reaction appears after you fly home, photograph it and see a local doctor promptly, especially for spreading redness, increasing pain, fever or any change in vision. The CDC advises getting copies of your records from the clinic before you leave, so take the product name and treated areas with you.
One photo is enough to start. On WhatsApp, send a daylight picture of the area with your dates, and ask how many sessions you'd need and what it would cost for your case. You can ask before booking anything. When you come, I'll examine your skin with the 3D scan and recommend what fits it.
The short version
- Most polynucleotide studies measure results at about 3 to 6 months, after a course.
- Injection bumps usually settle within days, and bruises can take up to about a week.
- Published sessions were mostly 2 or 3 weeks apart, so a course rarely fits one short trip.
- Product type, cc, area, sessions and delivery method decide the cost.
Questions patients ask
Does one Rejuran session do anything?
It can improve skin quality for some people, but most published results come from courses of 2 to 4 sessions. Treat one session as a smaller plan with a smaller expected change.
How far apart are Rejuran sessions usually spaced?
Most published schedules for polynucleotide injections used gaps of 2 or 3 weeks, and a few used other gaps. Your own spacing is a question to raise at the consultation.
Can I have Rejuran on the same day as my consultation?
Often, yes. Tell the clinic about recent fillers, isotretinoin or medicines that affect healing beforehand.
Can I fly the day after Rejuran?
A skin injection isn't major surgery, so the long waits advised after surgery don't transfer to it. Leaving two or three days is mainly about letting bumps and any bruise settle.
Should I avoid anything before a Rejuran trip?
Mention any recent laser, peel, filler or medicine when you message. If you're on isotretinoin, pregnant, breastfeeding or allergic to salmon, raise that before you book a flight.
Which lasts longer, Rejuran or a lifting device?
They do different jobs, so the comparison has limits. Boosters work on skin quality, while devices such as Ultherapy Prime work on laxity and list 6 to 12 months on our site.
Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
