If you are searching for an acne scar laser Korea clinic, you have probably lived with the marks for years and tried creams that changed nothing. What you want to settle now is simple: which machine, how many visits, and whether a trip to Seoul can hold the downtime.

Those three questions have one answer in common. It depends on the scars in front of the doctor, not on the device a clinic happens to own. A rolling dip, a narrow pit and a flat red mark are three different problems.

This guide follows the order we use in the consultation room. By the end you will know what causes each kind of mark, which of our platforms answers it, how a course runs, and what each step costs on our own list. We plan scar work as a course, never as a single visit.

What is actually causing the marks

Most people use the word scar for everything a breakout leaves behind. Clinically there are three separate things, and each one needs a different tool.

  • Depressed scars. Dips and pits in the surface, sitting in the dermis. These are what an acne scar laser Korea search is usually about, and they respond to fractional laser and RF microneedling.
  • Red marks. Flat redness after a breakout heals. This is vascular, not textural, and a vessel laser such as Vbeam Perfecta is the tool for it.
  • Active acne. New breakouts still forming. While the sebaceous gland keeps producing them, every new spot can leave another mark behind.

That third point decides the order of work. Treating old scars while new ones are still forming means paying for the same job twice.

What we use for acne scars here, and why

Our acne, scar and pore platforms work at the level where recurrence and scarring begin. Three of them carry most scar plans.

Fraxel and CO2 fractional laser

Fraxel places microscopic laser columns in a grid and leaves untreated skin between them. That untouched skin is what heals the treated columns quickly. Er:YAG and CO2 laser configurations reach different depths, and the scar type decides which one runs.

Potenza and Intracel RF microneedling

Potenza and Intracel are RF microneedling: fine needles carry radiofrequency straight into the dermis, where depressed scars sit. The surface carries far less load than it would under an ablative laser doing comparable work. Insulated, non-insulated and shallow tips are chosen from the scar type.

Agnes for breakouts that keep coming

Agnes uses an insulated needle to release radiofrequency mainly into the sebaceous gland, with the needle shaft insulated so the surface above it is spared. It is CE and MFDS cleared. We use it to stop new acne first, so the scar work that follows is not undone by next month's breakout.

The plan, session by session

Scar work is cumulative. Each session lays down collagen that the next one builds on, which is why one visit is a start and not a result.

  1. Skin analysis first. Acne scars differ from face to face in depth, width and leftover redness, so we start with 3D Meta-Vu imaging. It separates texture, pores, redness and acne bacteria into images you can look at with us, and the plan comes from those.
  2. Clear active acne first. If breakouts are still forming, Agnes treats the glands behind them. It is slow work, treated one pore at a time, and it is why the scar result holds afterwards.
  3. Start on the scars. RF microneedling is the usual first step for depressed scars, with the tip matched to the scar. Fraxel is added where the surface itself needs resurfacing.
  4. Combine where it helps. The list carries Fraxel and Intracel as one session, so both depths can be worked on the same day.
  5. Review and repeat. How many sessions you need, and how far apart, depends on your own scars. We set both after the Meta-Vu images, and repeat the imaging to see how your skin answered.

If redness is part of the picture, Vbeam can sit inside the same course. Vascular work responds best over three to five spaced sessions.

Downtime after an acne scar laser, day by day

Downtime is the part most people underestimate on a short trip. Here is what each treatment leaves, from our own treatment facts.

What you will see after each treatment
TreatmentWhat you seeHow long
Fraxel or CO2 fractionalRedness and flaking3–7 days
Potenza or IntracelRedness1–3 days
AgnesSmall scabs2–4 days
Vbeam PerfectaRednessA few hours

Fraxel has real downtime, and we would rather plan around your week than pretend otherwise. Put fractional laser at the start of a stay, not two days before a flight or a wedding. RF microneedling is easier to place, and the sensation is moderate under topical anaesthetic.

The clinic is a two-minute walk from Nonhyeon Station, Exit 5. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays, so count those out when you plan.

What an acne scar laser costs in Korea at our clinic

These figures come from our price list of 20 August 2026 and are before 10% VAT. The final quote is confirmed at consultation, once the doctor has seen your skin.

A tip is a single-use needle head, charged per session on top of the session price. Agnes can also be priced per lesion at 5,000 KRW or for one partial area at 129,000 KRW, which suits a few stubborn spots better than a full face.

The total depends on three things: which device, how many sessions, and whether active acne needs clearing first. Ask for a range before you fly and you will get one.

Who should ask first before scar treatment

Fractional laser and RF microneedling are not right for every skin on every trip. Tell us about these before anything is booked.

  • Isotretinoin, recent fillers, or medication that affects healing. We ask about these before every treatment, and they can change the plan.
  • Recent sun or retinoids. Avoid both for a few days before laser work.
  • Darker skin tones. Tell us your Fitzpatrick type when you message. Heat-driven treatments carry more risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, and we plan around it.
  • Mostly redness, little texture. Vbeam Perfecta may be the whole answer, with no resurfacing at all.
  • A fixed event within a week. Fraxel may have to wait for the next trip, and RF microneedling alone can start now.

We cover RF microneedling in more depth in our guide to Potenza gold microneedling. If this is your first treatment in Seoul, read what patients ask before they visit.

When you are ready, tick Fraxel in the booking selector and add anything else you want to discuss. Nothing is confirmed until you say so.

The short version

  1. Depressed acne scars, red marks and active acne are three different problems, and each needs a different tool.
  2. At THE Beautiful Clinic, Fraxel is 109,000 KRW, Intracel 129,000 KRW and Potenza 169,000 KRW per session, plus a tip, per the list of 20 August 2026, before 10% VAT.
  3. Active breakouts are treated first with Agnes, so new acne does not undo the scar work.
  4. Fraxel leaves 3–7 days of redness and flaking; RF microneedling leaves 1–3 days of redness.
  5. Scars differ from person to person, so the number of sessions is set after 3D Meta-Vu imaging, not before it.

Questions patients ask

How much does acne scar laser cost in Korea?

At THE Beautiful Clinic in Gangnam, Fraxel is 109,000 KRW per session and Fraxel with Intracel is 199,000 KRW plus a 33,000 KRW tip, per the price list of 20 August 2026, before 10% VAT. The final price is confirmed at consultation.

Which laser works for deep acne scars?

It depends on the scar type. Wide, rolling scars and narrow pits sit at different depths, so we choose between fractional laser and RF microneedling, or combine them, after seeing your skin.

Does acne scar treatment hurt?

Fraxel feels moderate to strong. Potenza and Intracel feel moderate under a topical anaesthetic, and Agnes is also done under topical anaesthetic.

How long is the downtime after Fraxel?

Expect 3–7 days of redness and flaking. RF microneedling leaves 1–3 days of redness, so it is easier to fit into a short trip.

How many sessions do acne scars need?

It differs from person to person, because scar depth and type vary. We set the number of sessions and the gap between them after 3D Meta-Vu imaging, and repeat the imaging to track the change.

Should I treat active acne before my scars?

Yes, if you are still breaking out. Agnes treats the sebaceous gland behind the breakouts, so new acne does not leave new marks over the scars you are treating.

How do I book acne scar treatment from abroad?

Send clear photos and your travel dates on WhatsApp. The clinic replies in English or Bahasa Indonesia, usually the same day.

Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
