Radiesse South Korea: how many days to stay in Seoul? Cost, reviews, methods

Radiesse can be injected on the day of your consultation, but bruising often shows a day or two later. The clinic is a 2-minute walk from Exit 5 of Nonhyeon Station and closes every Sunday.

Thinking about Radiesse South Korea for a jawline that has started to soften, but worried your face will still be swollen or bruised when you board the flight home to Jakarta or Surabaya?

Read this through before you lock in your return ticket.

By the end you'll know which injection method is used, which review claims hold up, what decides the cost, and how many recovery days to leave. That lets you choose a stay in Seoul that fits your face and your budget.

Hello, I'm Dr. Jang Dong-hoon, Founder & Medical Director of THE Beautiful Clinic in Seoul, and a member of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Surgery and the Korean Society for Laser Medicine.

At our clinic I consult, plan and treat myself. The consultation begins with a 3D scan of your skin, not with a price list. WhatsApp messages in English or Bahasa Indonesia are answered within 24 business hours, and in the clinic the consultation runs in English with a free interpreter.

I'm writing this because many people book a flight home the day after their injection, while bruising often only becomes obvious on the second day, right when they're at the airport.

Radiesse can usually be injected right after the consultation, and swelling or bruising typically settles within a few days to about a week. If you want to fly home without noticeable bruising, leave three to four days in Seoul after the injection.

If you're not sure which area actually needs support, send one daylight photo of your face from the side on WhatsApp, and ask whether it's your jawline or your lower cheeks that has dropped. A side view shows the jawline far more clearly than a front-facing selfie.

What happens in your face after Radiesse is injected?

Radiesse contains small particles of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) in a carrier gel. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons describes CaHA as a mineral-like compound found naturally in human bones. Once injected, the gel gives volume right away. Over a few weeks the body absorbs the gel, and the CaHA particles prompt the skin to build new collagen around them, an effect discussed in the consensus recommendations on CaHA as a collagen stimulator.

For your Radiesse South Korea plan, that means two phases. The first day to about one week is the swelling and bruising phase, and this phase decides when you'll feel comfortable flying. The collagen phase runs for months after you're back home, so the face you see at the airport is not the final result.

There is one important difference from hyaluronic acid filler. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme if the result isn't right, while CaHA cannot be dissolved that way. That's why the amount and depth of injection need careful thought from the start.

Day by day: from consultation to boarding the plane

This table shows a common pattern after a single Radiesse South Korea treatment on the face. Treat it as a rough map, because every face reacts a little differently.

Day by day: from consultation to boarding the plane
DayWhat usually happensWhat you should plan
Arrival dayTired after an overnight flightRest first, don't inject on poor sleep
Day 0, consultation and injectionArea feels full, mild redness and tendernessCome with a clean face and no makeup
Days 1 to 2Swelling at its most noticeable, bruising may startAvoid sauna, hard exercise and alcohol
Days 3 to 4Swelling goes down, bruising turns yellowUsually comfortable enough to fly
Days 5 to 7Most bruising fadesLight makeup usually covers what remains

Clinic hours shape your treatment day. The clinic is open Monday to Thursday 10:30 to 19:30, Friday 10:30 to 20:30, and Saturday 10:30 to 16:30 without a lunch break. On weekdays there is a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00, and the clinic is closed on Sundays and Korean public holidays. Weekends and Friday evenings fill fastest, so send your dates as soon as your tickets are fixed.

The clinic is a 2-minute walk from Exit 5 of Nonhyeon Station (Sinbundang Line). There is no patient parking, so come by subway or taxi. Let the clinic know if you've recently had filler, are taking isotretinoin, or take medication that affects healing.

A few things that help in the first 48 hours, as general advice:

  • Sleep with your head slightly raised on the first night so swelling doesn't pool.
  • Don't press or massage the injected area unless your doctor asks you to.
  • Avoid saunas, jjimjilbang, hard exercise and alcohol.
  • Wudu water is fine; rinse the injected area gently without rubbing.
  • A hijab is fine, but avoid pins or tight folds pressing on the jawline for a few days.

If you're also planning a laser or lifting treatment on the same trip, check the flying gaps for each type of skin treatment in Korea before you book.

How many days in Seoul make sense?

Say you're 58, live in Surabaya, and come to Seoul with your daughter for six days. Your jawline has started to soften, the skin on your lower cheeks is thinning, and there's a family event a week after you get home. Your overnight flight lands at Incheon on Saturday morning.

In that situation I wouldn't inject on that Saturday. Sleep on the plane is usually short, and the clinic is closed on Sunday, so the first day after the injection couldn't be used to come back with a question. Monday morning makes more sense: consultation and skin scan, then treatment if it truly suits you. Tuesday and Wednesday are peak swelling, so fill them with easy walks and stay away from saunas or hiking.

If you'd like your face looked at once more before flying on Friday, ask when booking whether there's a slot on Thursday. For Radiesse South Korea in one area of the face, a five to seven day visit with the injection early in the week is usually enough, and your family event is still a week away.

Information about the clinic, its hours and its doctor is on the THE Beautiful Clinic English home page.

If you've had filler in your face before, send the product name, the rough date and the area injected on WhatsApp, together with your arrival and departure dates. Ask whether Radiesse makes sense in the same area with the days you have. Your old filler history affects the choice of product, so it's better to ask before you buy the ticket.

Radiesse methods: concentrated for contour, diluted for skin quality

Radiesse is used in two ways. In the first, the product is used concentrated or slightly diluted and placed fairly deep to give structure to the jawline, chin, or cheeks that have lost support. The volume shows right away, and swelling in the first days is usually more noticeable. If you are weighing it against a collagen stimulator, see Sculptra vs Radiesse.

In the second, the product is diluted much more and spread thinly under the skin. The consensus recommendations on hyperdiluted CaHA (de Almeida and colleagues, 2019) discuss this as a collagen stimulator for the face and body, for example the neck and upper chest. The volume is barely visible; the goal is denser skin over several months. For a short trip, this method generally leaves milder swelling, although bruising can still appear.

The choice of method in a Radiesse South Korea plan also decides which areas to avoid. The lips and the thin skin around the eyes are generally not treated with CaHA, because in thin, mobile areas lumps are easier to feel.

At our clinic, Radiesse belongs to the skin booster and collagen regeneration group, along with Rejuran, Juvelook, Sculptra, Ultracol and Exosome. Each material works on a different timeline, and which one is chosen matters more than the brand. A short overview is on the Radiesse treatment page.

If your concern isn't really lost volume, Radiesse won't answer it. Enlarged pores have their own limits, redness and uneven tone are closer to the territory of Laser Genesis, and depressed acne scars have their own laser options.

Radiesse South Korea reviews: what's true and what isn't

Reviews on TikTok and forums tend to repeat the same few claims. Here is how to read them medically.

  • “You see the result straight away.” Partly true. The volume from the gel shows at once, but part of what you see on day one is swelling. The collagen effect follows over several months.
  • “If you don't like it, just dissolve it.” Not true for Radiesse. Dissolving enzymes work on hyaluronic acid filler, not on CaHA.
  • “There are always lumps.” Overstated. Firmness in the first days is often just swelling. Persistent lumps or nodules can happen, and the FDA lists them among filler risks, especially when product sits too superficially or in a very mobile area.
  • “You can fly the next day.” Flying isn't medically forbidden, but bruising may only appear on day two. The real question is how comfortable you'd be if that bruise shows when you land at home.

What decides the Radiesse South Korea cost?

The Radiesse South Korea cost is calculated from the product used, so the figure follows the plan for your face. The first factor is the number of syringes: the chin alone differs from both sides of the jawline. The second is how many areas are treated in one visit. The list price per syringe is in Radiesse Korea: what it is and what it costs.

The third is the method. The diluted version for skin quality spreads over a wider area, so the amount of product needed differs from the concentrated version for contour. The fourth is whether Radiesse is combined with other treatments on the same trip. The fifth is whether you want a check visit before flying, which also affects how many days you stay.

The clinic confirms the figure at the consultation, once the areas and amount are clear, rather than listing a starting price that later changes. If you'd like a sense of it first, ask for the range. Ask on WhatsApp what it would cost for your case, with one photo of the area you want to improve.

Who should wait, and what are the risks?

Common temporary reactions are swelling, bruising, redness, tenderness and a feeling of fullness at the injection site. The FDA lists reactions like these among the common side effects of fillers. They generally improve within a few days to about two weeks.

Before booking Radiesse South Korea, as general medical guidance it's better to wait if you:

  • are pregnant or breastfeeding;
  • have an infection, inflamed acne or a wound in the area to be injected;
  • have recently had filler, laser or a peel in the same area;
  • are taking or have just finished isotretinoin, or medication that affects healing and blood clotting;
  • have a history of allergy to product components or a tendency to keloids.

A rare but serious risk is product entering a blood vessel. The FDA notes this complication can cause skin damage, vision problems and stroke. Signs include severe pain, pale or bluish skin around the injection site, or blurred vision. This is an emergency: go to the nearest emergency room right away, wherever you are.

If, after you get home, you notice a lump, swelling that hasn't gone down after two weeks, or spreading redness, send a daylight photo on WhatsApp and see a dermatologist in your city. Before you fly, ask for a note of the product name, the amount and the areas injected. The CDC advises medical travelers to carry copies of their medical records and to plan follow-up care at home. Results and recovery time are not the same for everyone, and whether it suits you is confirmed through an in-person examination.

The next step is small. Send your arrival and departure dates for Seoul on WhatsApp, one photo of your face from the side is enough, and ask one question: how many days after the injection should I leave for this area? You can ask before booking anything, or use the booking page when your dates are fixed. When you come, I examine your face myself with the 3D skin scan and recommend the plan that fits your face and your flight home. When your dates are fixed, tick Radiesse in the booking selector.

The short version

  1. Radiesse is CaHA in a gel: volume shows at once, collagen follows over months.
  2. Swelling peaks on days 1 to 2, and bruising may only appear on day two.
  3. Leave three to four days in Seoul after the injection before flying home.
  4. CaHA cannot be dissolved with an enzyme, so a careful first amount makes sense.
  5. Cost depends on syringe count, areas, method and any combined treatments.

Questions patients ask

Can I fly the day after a Radiesse injection?

There is no medical rule against flying after filler. The issue is practical: bruising may only show on day two, and swelling feels more bothersome in the cabin. If your schedule allows, leave a few days before flying.

How long do Radiesse results last?

The carrier gel is absorbed within a few weeks, while the collagen that forms lasts for months and then slowly decreases as the body absorbs the particles. Many people plan a further session once the result starts to thin.

Can Radiesse be combined with Thermage or Ultherapy on one trip?

It can be discussed. Many doctors prefer to do heat-based treatments first or on a different day, because heat over a freshly filled area can affect the product. Mention your combined plan when you send a message.

Can the consultation be in Indonesian?

You can write in Indonesian: WhatsApp messages in English or Bahasa Indonesia are answered within 24 business hours. In the clinic, the consultation runs in English with the clinic's own interpreter, free of charge. If English is hard for you, say so in your first message.

When can I wear makeup and a hijab again after Radiesse?

As general advice, light makeup can usually go on the next day as long as you don't rub the injected area. A hijab is fine from day one, provided no pins or tight folds press on the jawline.

How is Radiesse different from hyaluronic acid filler?

Hyaluronic acid filler gives volume from a gel and can be dissolved with an enzyme. Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite, which gives volume and also stimulates collagen, but it can't be dissolved with that same enzyme.

Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
