Skin boosters
Laetigen korea for thinning skin, is it right for you? Cost, reviews, methods
Laetigen is a collagen booster for the dermis, not a filler for shaping contours. Consultations start with a 3D skin scan, and the clinic is a 2 minute walk from Exit 5 of Nonhyeon Station.

Your cheek skin is getting thinner, fine lines show more when you smile, and then you come across the name Laetigen Korea on social media and wonder: is this just a filler with a new name, and does it suit skin at your age?
Before you book anything for your Seoul trip, give this a few minutes.
By the end you'll know how the Laetigen method works, which reviews get it right and which don't, who should wait, and what decides the cost. That way you can judge whether this collagen booster fits your skin and your budget, or whether you need something else.
Hello, I'm Dr. Jang Dong-hoon, Founder & Medical Director of THE Beautiful Clinic in Seoul.
At our clinic I consult, plan and treat myself. Consultations start with a 3D skin scan and are available in English and Bahasa Indonesia. I have also been appointed by LYV Sciences, the maker of Ultracol, as a Key Opinion Leader for that skin booster.
I'm writing this because many people treat a collagen injection as if it were filler, then feel let down when their face doesn't look fuller, even though a collagen booster was never designed to do that.
Laetigen is known as a type 1 collagen skin booster that is injected into the dermis to support skin density, hydration and texture. It is worth considering for thin, dry skin with fine lines, and it is a poor fit when your main concern is deep sagging or pigmentation.
If you're not sure whether your skin is thinning or just dry, send one photo of your face without makeup in daylight on WhatsApp, and ask one thing: does a collagen booster make sense for skin like this?
What Laetigen is and how it works
Type 1 collagen is the main collagen in the dermis, the layer of skin that gives it bounce. With age the dermis thins and its fibres become sparser. That is why skin in your 40s or 50s feels thinner when pinched, and why fine lines appear on the cheeks even when the face hasn't lost much volume.
A booster like Laetigen works in that layer. Its aim is to support the structure of the dermis and the skin's hydration. Hyaluronic acid contour filler is placed deeper and is used to add volume at specific points, such as the cheeks or chin. Both are injected, but they answer different problems.
The skin booster menu at our clinic covers several materials: PN, PLA, PLLA, PDO, CaHA, exosomes and pure type 1 collagen. Each works on a different timeline, so the choice of material matters more than the choice of brand. You can read about Laetigen at our clinic on the Laetigen treatment page.
One thing people often miss: injected collagen doesn't stay forever. The body breaks it down over time, so a collagen booster is maintained with sessions spaced out over time. How long it holds in your skin is a fair question to ask at your consultation.
The Laetigen method: from 3D scan to injection
Consultations at our clinic begin with a 3D scan of your skin, not with a price list. The scan helps separate problems that look alike in a mirror: thin skin, dryness, pigmentation, redness, or sagging in a deeper layer. Laetigen answers only part of that list.
In general, a collagen booster treatment goes like this:
- Consultation and skin scan to see whether the main problem really sits in the dermis.
- The face is cleansed, and a topical numbing cream is usually applied to reduce the sting of the needle.
- The product is injected in small points across the planned area.
- The area is calmed; small bumps at the injection points usually settle on their own within a few days.
Boosters can usually be done straight after the consultation. That matters when you only have a few days in Seoul. Even so, before counting days, make sure your skin actually needs collagen support in the dermis.

Who is Laetigen for, and when is another booster a better fit?
The table below is how I map a concern to a treatment direction. It's a general picture to help you ask questions, not a diagnosis.
| Main concern | Direction usually considered | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Thin, dry skin, fine lines | Collagen booster such as Laetigen | Supports dermal density |
| Dull, tired skin needing regeneration | PN booster such as Rejuran | PN is salmon derived, mention any allergy |
| Cheeks hollowing over time | PLLA such as Sculptra or CaHA such as Radiesse | Builds collagen slowly, lumps can occur |
| Sagging at the jaw and cheeks | Energy lifting or thread lifting | A booster does not lift |
| Pigmentation or redness | Laser | A booster does not remove pigment |
If what bothers you most is redness or uneven tone, read the post on Laser Genesis Korea for redness and skin tone first. For pigmentation that won't fade, there is a post on Enlighten for stubborn pigmentation. If a dropping jawline is your main concern, the post on the difference between Korean and European threads is more relevant than any booster.
Say you're 52, living in Surabaya, and the skin on your cheeks has felt thin and dry for the past few years. You've had cheek filler before and don't want your face to look any fuller. You have five days in Seoul with your family. In that situation my first question would be: are the fine lines there because the dermis has thinned, or because the skin is being pulled down by sagging underneath? If it's the first, a collagen booster makes sense and adds no volume. If it's the second, injecting collagen alone won't lift the cheeks, and a more truthful plan involves lifting.
If you've had filler or a booster before, send one photo of your face from the side with a list of those treatments and the month you had them, and ask whether Laetigen can go on top of that history.
Laetigen reviews: what's true and what needs correcting
Reviews of Laetigen Korea on social media and forums tend to circle around the same few claims. Here is how to read them medically:
- Skin is instantly plump the next day. Partly true. Skin often feels more hydrated and a little firmer after injection, partly from fluid and mild swelling. The change that comes from collagen support in the dermis arrives more slowly.
- No swelling at all. Not accurate. Small bumps at the injection points, redness and bruising are common reactions to injected treatments, although they are usually mild.
- A collagen injection can lift the face. Wrong. A booster works in the dermis. Sagging that comes from the fat layer or the SMAS needs another approach.
- More product means a better result. There is no medical basis for that. The amount injected follows the size of the area and the condition of the skin.
Reviews are useful for hearing what other people felt. They can't tell you whether your skin is thinning in the dermis or sagging in a deeper layer.
Laetigen risks and who should wait
The most common reactions after a skin injection are redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness and small bumps at the injection points. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) lists these as common side effects of soft tissue fillers. A study of a PLLA collagen biostimulator in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology also recorded pain, bruising and swelling as the most frequent complaints, mostly mild and settling within days. Reactions and recovery differ from person to person.
In general, wait or talk to a doctor first if you:
- have an infection, inflamed acne or irritation in the area to be injected
- are allergic to collagen, animal products or lidocaine
- have a bleeding disorder
- are pregnant or breastfeeding
- tend to form keloids or raised scars
- are taking isotretinoin, or have recently had filler, laser or a peel
After you fly home to Indonesia, seek medical help straight away if you have unusual pain, changes in vision, or skin near an injection point that looks white, grey or bluish. Lumps that don't settle, open sores or signs of infection should be checked by a local doctor. You can also send a photo of the area to the clinic on WhatsApp; the clinic answers messages within 24 business hours.
Laetigen cost: what decides the figure
The cost of Laetigen Korea for you can't be guessed from the product name alone. A few things move it:
- The amount of product needed for the treated area.
- The size of the area, for example face only, or face and neck.
- The number of sessions planned, because the body breaks injected collagen down over time.
- Combined treatment in one visit, such as a booster alongside laser or lifting.
- What the skin scan shows, because sometimes it points to a different booster.
We confirm the figure at the consultation instead of listing a starting price that later changes. You can ask for the range first on WhatsApp: name the area you want treated, attach one photo, and ask what it would cost for your case.
Planning Laetigen Korea within a few days in Seoul
The clinic is open Monday to Thursday from 10:30 to 19:30, Friday from 10:30 to 20:30 and Saturday from 10:30 to 16:30. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays. Lunch break is 13:00 to 14:00 on weekdays, and Saturdays run without a lunch break. Booking a few days ahead is usually enough, but weekends and Friday evenings fill fastest.
The clinic is on the 2nd floor of the Jinryeong Building on Gangnam-daero, Seocho-gu, about a 2 minute walk from Exit 5 of Nonhyeon Station (Sinbundang Line). There is no patient parking, so come by subway or taxi. An interpreting companion is arranged for your appointment time. If this is your first time arranging things yourself, the post on booking a Korean beauty clinic without an agent can help, and general clinic information is on the THE Beautiful Clinic page for Indonesian patients. You can request a slot through the treatment booking page.
Because small bumps or bruising can appear, put the booster early in your trip, not on your last morning before the airport. That way you still have time in Seoul if something needs asking.
For a first step, just send your arrival and departure dates in Seoul on WhatsApp with one question, for example what the range would be for face and neck. One message is enough to start, and you can ask before booking anything. When you come, I examine your skin myself with the 3D scan and suggest a plan that makes sense for that skin, including when the answer is a smaller plan.
The short version
- Laetigen is known as a type 1 collagen booster that works in the dermis, not a volume filler.
- It suits thin, dry skin with fine lines; deep sagging or pigmentation needs a different tool.
- Small bumps, redness and bruising at injection points usually settle within a few days.
- Cost depends on the amount of product, the area, the number of sessions and any combined treatment.
- Consultations start with a 3D skin scan and are available in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Questions patients ask
Is Laetigen the same as filler?
No. Laetigen is known as a type 1 collagen booster that works in the dermis for skin density and hydration. Contour filler is placed deeper to add volume at specific points.
How long does Laetigen last?
Injected collagen doesn't stay forever because the body breaks it down over time. That's why collagen boosters are usually maintained with spaced sessions. Ask for an estimate for your skin at the consultation.
Can Laetigen be done right after the consultation?
Boosters can usually be done straight after the consultation, which suits a short trip. Still leave a few days in Seoul afterwards in case small bumps or bruising appear.
Does a Laetigen injection hurt?
You usually feel small pricks and a little stinging at the injection points. A topical numbing cream is generally applied beforehand to reduce the discomfort.
Can Laetigen be combined with Rejuran or laser in one visit?
It can, but combinations are decided after examining your skin in person. Two treatments in one visit only make sense when each answers a different problem.
Can the consultation be in Bahasa Indonesia?
Yes. Consultations are available in English and Bahasa Indonesia, and an interpreting companion is arranged for your appointment time. Contact the clinic on WhatsApp before you come.
Results and recovery vary between individuals, and every treatment can have side effects. Prices are from the clinic's price list and are confirmed at consultation. This article is general information, not a diagnosis.
